Arab Game Developers Association

Bill Gates was once asked in 1998 about what his competitive nightmare would be, what challenge does he fear the most? he rocked gently back and forth, sipping from a can of Diet Coke, and silently pondered the question. When he finally spoke he did not recite the usual litany of prominent foes: Netscape, Sun, Oracle or Apple. Nor did he cite the federal government. Instead, he said: "I fear someone in a garage who is devising something completely new."

Through this blog and twitter, I was fortunate enough to meet a lot of people who are currently sitting in garages working on projects of their own. 2-3 man teams working on making the dream come true, their own idea realized, an Arab game trying to succeed when no one else could.

Then it crossed my mind, if they haven't approached me I would've never known about their efforts, If they ran across a problem during their countless tries they wouldn't know who to jump ideas against. I figured it's about time, we need a community to bind us together.

We need somewhere for all the Arab Game developers to meet, exchange ideas and show what they have got going on.

I know it's not much, but it's a first step, I've created a social network to hold us as an association, it will contain all indie and professional arab game deverlopers from around the globe.

Create an account and sign in:

Message me for any feedback and/or enhancements. I'm up for anything;  help me spread the word and tell any gamer/game developer you know. Who knows? maybe one day a group of elite developers would emerge from the forums of this network ...

After that, the world is ours ;)
